This book is not for the weak!
I am so glad that I pushed through the first 50 pages of this book, because I almost DNFed it – I couldn't handle what was happening at the beginning…Normally, I can handle a lot of things, especially in books, but what happened to Honer made me feel so sick that I seriously considered not continuing. I'm really glad I did, because the book turned out to be an absolute masterpiece! 👏🏻 The story of Honer and Fox is incredibly beautiful, emotional, and so well done. Their relationship development was so good, and the slow burn wasn’t just important for their story (especially for Honer and her backstory), but absolutely perfect overall. Honer is one of the strongest and most admirable women I’ve ever read about, and the way Fox took care of not only her body, but also her heart and soul truly stunned me. I don’t want to spoil too much, but everything this man did for her left me speechless – the greenest green flag to ever exist 🥹 And the spice – oh my god, the spice… It had me sweating, giggling, and going absolutely feral. The mouth on this man is so filthy, but so fucking good. The amount of spice and the way it was written were perfect for the story, and the tension in this book was just chef’s kiss. By the way, I absolutely loved that Honer is a book girl and that this part of her played such an important role in the storyline (and the spicy scenes as well) – iykyk 🫣 Most importantly, though, the book deals with a really important theme that deserves more attention – domestic and sexual abuse. Adeline Winters did an absolutely amazing job writing about this sensitive topic, and it made me feel so many things: disgust, anger, sadness, but also admiration, pride, and happiness. That’s why the ending of this book was so powerful and important! I would highly recommend this masterpiece to everyone, but please check your triggers, because it really isn’t for the faint of heart ❗️
