This was super cute! I love me some college vibes, football star x dance student also was a combo I was looking forward so much (Give me ALLLL the dance books please?) and it didn't disappoint. Having the opposite upbringings/class distinction as well as a (in my eyes) quite sweet while also sensible portrayal of growing up in poverty also enhanced the depth of the story, of course as well as Lark's and Henry's history with beating cancer as kids. There are some major triggers in there, so please be careful and read the TWs, if it could be relevant to you. From page one you're rooting for Lark and Henry, not only because they really deserved their HEA after all the shit they've gone through, but because you'll melt from how loving and supportive they are to each other as kids already. This was just so sweet!Of course, there had to be some angst, regarding being in the closet, a difficult family situation and jock-bro-dudes as friends, and especially the anxiety about the cancer coming back, but overall it was still relatively low angst. The spice was totally enjoyable, there was spice but the scenes were rather short and it enhanced the story, so it's not a book with spice for spice's sake.I had a really good time and will continue with book two - even tho I'm a bit sad that's waaay shorter? We'll see!(And since I had my struggles with both Franklin U books by Christina Lee, I'm so glad I've got to really enjoy one of her books!)
