small town romance anyone? This one was a quick and sweet read! Jade is a single mum, who’s opening her own bookstore + coffee place (so basically the dream of every reader) in a small town. She’s hardworking and determined to make her dream a success. Combine this with a wild little 8 year old son… she has her hands full. On the other side we got Levi. Freshly lost his job at a advertising company and is forced to move in with his sister, back in his hometown. One thing leads to another and he ends up agreeing to help Jade with advertising for her shop. Those two are extremely sweet and i had a great time with them. I can’t remember, when I read the last book with closed door smut….it’s been a while. However, I was not bothered by the lack of spice at all. This one is an adorable sweet read about family, love and the quirks of living in a small town. There’s quite a bit of drama going down within the families, which could have been a bit less chaotic and also less in general for my taste. But it didn’t impact my enjoyment with this book too much, so I’m not overly bothered by it. I will say though, I was not a fan of the entire family dynamic between the MMCs family. One thing I wish could have been written a bit better is Silas, Jades eight year old son. I usually love the single-parent kids so much and their interactions with the „future new partner“. Those are the main aspect, why I love the trope so much. But I didn’t really grow attached to Silas nor did we see him interact with Levi much. There were a few scenes, but the kiddo was absent, sent away on summer camp, for most of the timeline of the book. Which is not a particularly bad thing. I Just went into the story, knowing it’s a single mum situation. And now I just wish there had been MORE of it. Overall a sweet small town romance, that is perfect for a quick read in between. 3
