Loved it! Am I into mafia romance now… I think so! This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. My only complaint is that I had a little bit of a hard time following all the twists and turns. I even had to go back and read the hospital scene in Bittersweet. I also felt like they kept disagreeing about the same issue over and over again. Very excited for the next book though!
Tropes: * mafia romance (though in my opinion not mafia enough) * MMC obsessed with the FMC * revenge
I LOVED ‘Tis the season of revenge‘. My love for this book is literally the reason I picked this one up. I wanted to like this so badly… But it just wasn‘t for me. Let‘s talk about what I liked: Lilah wants to take down the rival mafia family to take over her rightful place as her fathers daughter. I admired her for this plan. But how she wants to execute it? Not that much. Her idea seemed to be very idealistic but also so very naive… but okay. The more the story continued, the more I was annoyed by Lilah. Dante doesn‘t feel like a made man to me. I liked that he is obsessed with Lilah, it just is a little much. And mixed with all his secrecy, I didn‘t get a grip on this guy and WHO he is. What unnerved me most is that there‘s hardly any progress. It feels like Lilah and Dante are having the same conversation over and over again and nothing happens. I am not at all interested in her mothers history, so the diary entries didn‘t do it for me. Though more focus on Dante‘s character would‘ve been nice. 2/5⭐️
