Guys, I cannot believe it, but here I am – writing a review for another one. Just as I was about to give up (those two before were more meh than he) I give it another try, and it was amazing! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Alex and Auzed soon learn to trust each other after they are surrounded by Sauven soldiers and find themselves in unfamiliar territory. Alex was such a fascinating character, and I enjoyed reading her chapters and interactions with other characters. She didn't have Lily's survival instincts, but this made Alex more relatable, as were the conflicting thoughts she had about her life on Earth. I didn't have any problems with her impulsiveness or naivety in the situations. I wheezed in these domestic moments and film cameos. Not only that, but I liked Auzed’s transformation from this grumpy by-the-book guy - to the head over heels in love guy. Initially, they disliked each other but still worked as a team. They loved how they were completely opposite but still complimented each other very well. And when Zed’s aloof and rigid exterior finally shattered, it was spectacular to read. In addition to all this, Wilson Philippe, an alien psychic pet, stole the show! Characterization was a delight, and the captivating way the alien City of Suaven was described was a joy to read. Enough said, I read that book in ONE sitting – again. There were some pages I skimmed over, but not as much as I did in the book before. I loved every moment and this other city and its traditions. Sadly, we receive no glimpses or information about the previous plot: the abductions. But this time I did not mind. P.S. They set pages on fire
