I guess the Murderbot pov is absolutely essential for my enjoyment of the series. Its useless detachment between books with its short story style is also not helping in the slightest, especially with the perspective change. The writing seemed off. It was no diary per se but just a description of events, it was missing the personalization of a diary in every aspect. I was confused at the beginning why it diverges so much from the rest and wasnt sure till the end why its so.
