Uuff... i am unfortunately disappointed with the second book. The first one started strong Rai was presented as this super smart strong feminist, who would not bend to a man and then exactly that happens. The book, again, was mainly spice, it felt like every 3 chapters was about their sex life. Way too much. I swear this Duett could've been a single book if RK reduced the spice. Spoiler: The fact that Kyle switched out her birth control is soo freaking invasive, I was shocked! He completely took away her bodily autonomy to pleasure his own selfish desire. This goes way too far, and although Rai was very mad in the beginning, she suddenly turned into this loving wife and devoted mother although she kept saying throughout the whole book, that she doesn't want kids. This fairy tale ending didn't fit her narrative at all and was totally written for the male gaze. I was so excited for this Duett, because I liked Rai, but the author completely destroyed her narrative...

Das ist das erste Mafia Duet von Rina Kent und genau deshalb bin ich mit ziemlich hohen Erwartungen rangegangen. Leider wurden diese für mich nicht ganz erfüllt. Ich habe die Bücher trotzdem super schnell gelesen und hatte definitiv meinen Spaß dabei. Dieser Band hat mir insgesamt etwas besser gefallen, vor allem weil hier deutlich mehr Plot vorhanden war. Allerdings haben mich einige Verhaltensweisen der Protagonisten echt genervt, weshalb mich das Paar einfach nicht komplett mitreißen konnte. Insgesamt war es unterhaltsam und leicht zu lesen, aber es zählt für mich nicht zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern von ihr.

Ahh Band 2 hab ich so aufgefressen! Ich liebe Rai und Kyle enorm! Rai ist so eine unfassbar starke Persönlichkeit und Kyle ist auch unfassbar toll und Husband Material! Die Story blieb spannend, herzzerreißend und schön! Es kam sehr viel Interessantes raus und zudem fand ich es auch schön einige Szenen aus der Monster Trilogie und der Deception Trilogie aus der Perspektive von Rai zu sehen bei denen sie präsent war. Und als Bonus auch noch Baby Nikolai, Mia & Maya. 💛💙 Rai & Kyle sind auf jeden Fall mein #2 Eltern-Paar.🥰

•Deutsche Rezension• "Why not? Even the most heartless people want families." "Not him, Rei..." I trail off as his words about his family's death hit me. He saw his own parents being murdered when he was only five. His only family since then were assassins who turned him into a killing machine. He's never actually had a family. Could that be why he yearns for one of his own? I never thought about it from that angle. Not that it excuses what he did, but it at least somewhat explains his behavior.

Etwas smutty, aber gut. Ich mochte, dass man endlich mehr über Kyle's Vergangenheit erfahren hat, die seine Verhaltensweisen schon ziemlich gut erklärt. Was ich nicht mochte, war der Anfang. Mit memory loss und miscommunication kann man mich jagen. Immerhin war das im ersten Kapitel aus Rais Sicht dann geklärt. Puh. Kyle hat genau das gemacht, was ich beim Thema Schwangerschaft erwartet habe und Rai hat sich erneut gegen ihn gewehrt. Ans Herz ging mir dann alles sehr, nachdem Rai Kyle's Wünsche für die Zukunft zerschmettert hat. Auf einmal war er auf Abstand und hat sogar Berührungen verweigert. Trotz dem, was Kyle getan hat, mag ich ihn lieber als Rai. Irgendwie steckt mehr in ihm, er ist interessanter.

Eng: I have to say i loved the first book of this couple. But what he did in this book is wild. I dont think i could really forgive the main male character for what he did. I understand his reasons but i think thats just not it. DE: Ich muss sagen ich fand den ersten Teil viel besser. Ich mochte das Pärchen echt und die Dynamik. Aber was der männliche Hauptcharakter in dem Buch gemacht hat ist für mich unverzeibar. Ich versteh wieso er es getan hat. Jedoch finde ich die Begründung zu schwach.

Einfach nur wow. Ich weiß nicht was ich schreiben soll. Die Handlung war wieder fesselnd gleichzeitig aber auch 🤯. Ebenso wird die Geschichte von der Deception Reihe, Monster Reihe, Lies Reihe und dem Empire Standalone mit eingebunden. Was heiß eingebunden aber man hört raus das es Geschichten dazu gibt. Was mich etwas gestört hat war das hin und her von Rai und Kyle, aber irgendwie gehört das zu Rinas Kent Büchern.

Mein armes Herz.😭 Nachdem mir der erste Teil absolut nicht zugesagt hat, war ich anfangs echt skeptisch. Aber nach dem 1/3 war ich hooked!! Es war soo spannend. In dem Duett ging es um Ria und Kyle (Eltern von Nikolai, Mia und Maya Sokolov. God of Ruin/God of Fury). Es gab tiefe und detaillierte Einblicke in die russische Mafia. Aber Kyle? Mein armes Herz.😭 Es war eine emotionale Achterbahnfahrt. Ich habe seit langem mal wieder beim einem Buch Tränen vergossen.

This book was the perfect continuation of the last one. There was more drama than I expected but I liked it. Normally I don’t like it when books are overly dramatic but this one captured it perfectly. Rai and Kyle’s relationship just got better and you could really see how they both fell in love with each other even though they didn’t want to. It was nice to see that Kyle’s real dad is still alive and how he reconnected with him. I also LOVED seeing Reina and Asher again with little Garett and Lia and Adrian with Jeremy. It just makes it soooo wholesome to see the previous characters again and the kids from the legacy of gods series. I’m really looking forward to seeing what happened with Lia and Adrian as well as Anastasia. She just ran away and I’m sensing some drama coming up there. I just love these books and the universe Rina Kent has created. Onto the next one

Kyle and Rai are special to me. I don't know why but their story really hit home for me and maybe I'd go as far as saying that they're my favourite couple out of the stories that I've read by Rina Kent so far. I just enjoyed their witty back and forth, how neither of them gave in. And reading about Kyle being a father is something I didn't know I needed

I definitely prefer this one over the first book. I liked how the reader gets to know more about Kyle which makes him much easier for me to grasp as a character. Rai also came of much stronger than in the first book. There was also so much more action and actual mafia stuff in this which I missed a lot in the first book. A lot of characters I already knew appeared or where mentioned too‐ Reina, Asher, Mio, Gareth - which I am always a fan off. The amnesia plot bothered me a little at first because it already appeared in Reinas book. When I found out that it was all fake, I actually ended up liking it. The whole switching out birth control thing was so fucked up. As someone who doesn't want kids at all, I really understood Rais reaction and my heart was really broken over this plot line. I just don't get why men think they have the right to do such a thing and I'm glad that Rai didn't forgive him right away and took her time to decide what to do instead of just accepting it because he wanted her to. I'm overall really excited to continue reading Rinas mafia world. Especially Kirill and Sashas trilogy. I'm a bit disappointed that I have to continue the Empire series first though since I didn't like the first one.

Dann sagt sie, sie will das Baby abtreiben und er ist überrascht? Was dachte er denn was sie sagen wird ?! Das hat den Charakter von Kyle so zerstört, wie kann man so etwas machen
