Kimmie ist eine junge Schauspielerin, die auf den Durchbruch in Hollywood hofft. Als sie die Hauptrolle in der Reality Show Hitched erhält, kann sie ihr Glück kaum fassen. Endlich könnten die Geldsorgen ihrer Familie ein Ende haben und sie selbst ein Star werden. Aber alles geht plötzlich unerwartet schnell und ehe sie durchatmen kann, fliegt sie schon auf eine tropische Insel, wo 25 Junggesellen auf sie warten, von denen sie einen am Ende heiraten soll. Panikattacke incoming. Zu Kimmies Glück sind die Jungs nicht nur unfassbar heiß, sondern in den meisten Fällen anständig und liebenswert. Und sie kann jeden Rückhalt brauchen, denn nach einigen Unfällen wird klar, dass ihr jemand nach dem Leben trachtet und dass irgend etwas äußerst Merkwürdiges in dieser Show vor sich geht. Was steckt hinter diesem ominösen Twist, auf den alle warten? Stell dir vor, du datest 25 Supernaturals und keiner warnt dich vor. Der Plot hat mich voll angesprochen und es hat mir genauso gut gefallen wie erhofft. Kimmie ist eine sympathische Protagonistin und einige der Jungs haben mich echt dahinschmelzen lassen. Ich bin gespannt, wie es weitergeht.

Hitched: The Bachelorette is about a human girl who moved to LA to become an actress and auditions for a new show namely the Bachelorette. Little did she know that she will not only get the job, but all those hot bachelors courting her are not your everyday kind of men, but supernaturals. Kimmie-Jayne is flown out to the film set on this beautiful island paradise where she slowly starts to get suspicious about the things happening around her. The book is a fun and unique twist of the actual TV show the Bachelorette, though the FMC is a young innocent human dating 25 supernaturals. The story is fast paced, but an absolute slow burn, the writing is lighthearted and fun to read. Each of the guys Kimmie-Jayne is dating is good looking in their own ways, but they all show different character traits. World-building is slow, but it just fits with the story as the FMC doesn't know about this parallel world co-existing with earth and so the reader is slowly being eased into this new world together with the FMC. I've actually started with a different series that plays in the same world as The Bachelorette Series and only realised while reading that there was a preceding story to the one I was reading and I was intrigued to get to know the other series in this whole universe, so this why I finally started at the beginning. For me personally Hitched was a very quick and fun read (4.5 stars, rounded to 5), I loved the writing style and the different characters, the story is unique, a little adventurous and mostly lighthearted and I am looking forward to the next books of the series as the first one ended in a cliffhanger.
