(...) If it weren't for Rhys and Cass I might would've DNF (...)
First of all: definitely recommended even if I did think about dnf. Here me out. The start of the book, the grand final and the end were EPIC! 5/5 But... the things between took their time. We started with Feyre as a spy and DAMN that was intense! I did not feel good returning to Spring Court. It made me uneasy, felt so small in comparison to the whole Night Court. For myself, I loved Feyre being so wicked, pulling strings I never knew she would pull. But the whole Spring court... I don't know, I didn't like it. When I look back to the first visit - I loved it, drowned it this beautiful tale. The lake full of starlight, the beautiful setting, nothing left of it. All in all, this book was pretty good. The middle was a bit (too) slow paced for my liking. But the bang at the end? Worth every page of it. So its a yes for me! (If you want to know more, read on) 🌙 but beware, below there'll be some spoilers!🌙 * * * * * * * I was so happy when she finally could leave the Spring Court. Back to home. When here duties were done. Then, from start to finish, the middle was... tempting to DNF. So much drama - and don't get me wrong, I love drama. But this drama was... because the men pissed themselfs off with dumb storys and "grr I am bigger and pissier then you!" aka toxic men being toxic men... So much... dragged out time. I knew, it was necessary to some point. The planning, the meetings, etc. I do understand that. But... Well let's say it was intense and it took me a few times to read on. If it weren't for Rhys and Cass, with their humor, their whole being (and of course the rest of this amazing crew) - I'd probably DNF the ACOTAR Series. Again. But - once again... it was mostly the atmosphere that hooked me. Hooked me in a way, not many fantasy books. The setting around Velaris, around Feyre and her friends in general. The way SJM describes her world is beyond something other fantasy books can do. If the setting is this good to keep me reading... well, then its deserved. Then! The finals were terrifying and thrilling enough to keep me up until 2 am. I read about the last 300 pages in one sitting, until I almost passed out bc I was so tired. But I NEEDED to know how this is going to end. In summary - this book is well done. From start to finish, character development. Only the middle was... a liiiiiiittle slow paced. in spite of everything, I will read the fourth book. Even if the ending from book three was... closed enough to not keep going. But I want to stay a little longer in this world 💫🖤
