I LOVED this book, I was going in thinking I'd like it somewhat because shorter books tend to be underwhelming (unless they're from authors I know nail shorter books) but this was amazing. Anja is the victim of her parents' magic. The lore is very well explain, the world built exceptionnally well and solid for a short book. Kael is a conqueror who now has to govern, but he's having a hard time finding his footing and thinks his only strenght is bloodshed. He's wrong. It's a traveling story, the romance is well built, really believable. Loved it
