🌟🌟🌟 3 stars: quick hot read with several problems executing a well-loved trope. Firstly, my worst pet peeve is when authors don't make ANY effort to translate something to another language correctly. What the hell is "Ich dien stein" supposed to mean?! It's definitely not German... The blurb was promising and it even started at a much higher rating, but in the end I had to bump it down several stars. - Nina was soooo witty, I loved it, and then she just stopped completely. Meh. - I really liked Max, but in the end I didn't understand why he had made such a big deal out of never loving anyone ever again and then being the one to pursue Nina right away . - There was also a stereotypically mean family. I am so over that. Complex families, please! - Then there was an ex thrown in for good measure, who just left again and didn't serve any significant purpose going forth. - Timelines and portraying the progress in a relationship over time are tricky, I know. It made me sad though, when chapters started with something like "two months later"... It felt like being fast forwarded and missing half of the fun. Anyway. It was okay, but nothing more.
