I read this novella as a start for my reread of the series. Last time, I read it after the first book, so now I wanted to make sure to read it in the correct order. The Pale Dreamer is a very short story about Paiges beginning at the Seven Seals. It is only four chapters long, but those are enough for a very interesting chase of a poltergeist through a London in the future. I liked coming into the world of the Bone Season through Paige's inexperienced eyes! There isn't a lot to say - this novella provides a bit of backstory that doesn't really have a place in the main series. I enjoyed it, even though I doubt it can stand on its own. But that's okay!
