IF SELECTION AND TWISTED GAMES HAD A BABY... π
I kinda love it; I really did. There was rarely a moment I didn't feel like picking it up. Something I haven't had in a while with a romance book. Since it was only a little under 300 pages (which matched perfectly with the plot), made it feel very fast-paced and noncommittal! (Seeing the % on my Kindle move up that quickly was very motivating π Besides that, Clara and Max radiated this kind, sympathetic, positive energy you want to surround yourself with π. Especially, Clara showed throughout the whole book how "real" and down-to-earth she is: how she immediately felt at home in Max's rustic cottage. Or how she genuinely wanted to change things for the better by putting so much effort and endurance into her patronage for memory patients π΅πΌ. On the other hand, Max was Clara's haven of peace whenever the palace life felt like too much. I absolutely adored how Max and Clara fell into this domestic kind of life right from the start. That's exactly what I would wish for myself (in a hypothetical world with my hypothetical, hot navy boyfriend). Last but not least, it's exciting to peek behind the curtains of the day-to-day life of in palace π. The duties, the hardships, the luxury, the doubts Especially my inner child was hooked, who had always reached for the tabloids (that we never had at home) whenever she stepped into the hairdresser or a cafΓ©. I truly can not wait for Clara's sister's stories. The little teasers and sneak peeks we got... But mostly Noah's aka Carolines. I can just imagine how much she knows by being the queen's right hand π€« Love, Eva π
