Fishy transformation
Just as delightful as volume 1 ❤️ There just wasn't as much drama, and I was surprised how far their relationship progressed already. I know it's just 4 volumes, but I am really used to those extreme slowburns of some other danmei novels 😂 Well, it's nice to read something a bit different. Speaking of which, I was a bit confused as to what the opinion about gay relationships in this novel is. I know it wasn't something forbidden in ancient China, and there were male concubines sometimes, but consorts? In other novels the matter was treated a bit differently, so I am just wondering if this is deliberately more queer friendly 🤔 Well, it is nice that they can be so open about their feelings 😌 Also, be it fish or person, everyone is just happy Prince Jing likes something and isn't that cold anymore 😂 They are just so cute together ❤️ There was a bit of a misunderstanding, but I liked how they resolved that. I also really like the disability representation. Prince Jing being mute is never an issue on a personal level. The communication may be harder sometimes, but they make it work, and it's not something Li Yu even thinks about when considering his feelings for the prince. Only the other princes talk bad about it, and, well, it's the reason he isn't considered as the Crown Prince, but I am sure the Emperor will see his worth soon 😤 Now a bit about the side characters because I love Wang Xi and Ye Qinghuan 🥰 Wang Xi is just the best servant. He knows what Prince Jing wants to say just by looking at him and it's kinda ridiculous how Li Yu gets away with things because Prince Jing told him to not ask any questions 🤷🏻♂️😂 Ye Qinghuan on the other side just can't win. It's so funny how he always "loses" against Prince Jing in his own head, lol. But he is still so supportive and just a good friend. I am excited to see what will happen next. Hope a certain secret finally gets out, because it's getting a bit ridiculous 😅 Also, I hope there is more drama again, hehe 🤭 [Now I just have to add a comment about the drawings again because it bothers be a bit that they are just not accurate (little spoiler here >). Li Yu changes his appearance in this volume and is now a silver/gold koi the length of a forearm, but in the drawings on the inside, he is still depicted as a palm-sized black carp. That was just weird to me. Also, the cover of volume 1 still doesn't fit because there the koi has red marks, so who is this 😅]
