Brooks, an intense yet incredibly sweet hockey player, is a character that will leave a lasting impression. (He makes the book boyfriend list, gals! Top of the list!) His pet names for Sara, especially "Crazy girl," are endearing and add depth to his character. His love for the game is only surpassed by his love for Sara, especially when Coach tells him to give him 100 push-ups on the ice before a game for engaging with Sara. Sara, on the other hand, is a character that you cannot help but root for. She’s been dealt a tough hand in the past, and Brooks' determination to give her the happiness she deserves is heartwarming. The dynamic between Brooks and Sara is written beautifully, their transition from best friends to lovers is natural and compelling – just try not to fall in love, I dare you! The author does an excellent job of weaving romance with the excitement of the sport and found family, creating a delightful balance that's sure to captivate any reader.
