Growing up as the only daughter of the Ashton family, Alana always had to work twice as hard to achieve her dreams. While she has worked for her family’s business for years, she now wishes to spread her own wings. But unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be in the card for her. Cue her best friend Warren, who proposes they get married to help both of them out. I think the Ashton Family series has quickly become one of my favourites from Carrie Aarons. The first book was great, but I enjoyed the chemistry between the protagonists here even more. I've read a bunch of best friends-to-lovers stories, where one of the characters has secretly pined for the other but not vice versa. I loved that both Warren and Alana held feelings for each other for years but never intervened; to see the story unfold was so much fun. Honeyed has everything going for it: it's a small-town romance with best friends to lovers who have swoon-worthy chemistry, which will put you up for a fun ride. I was hooked from the start and didn't put the book down. I can't wait to see where the series will go next. I was provided with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
