Cue her best friend Warren, who proposes they get married to help both of them out. I think the Ashton Family series has quickly become one of my favourites from Carrie Aarons. The first book was great, but I enjoyed the chemistry between the protagonists here even more. I've read a bunch of best friends-to-lovers stories, where one of the characters has secretly pined for the other but not vice versa. I loved that both Warren and Alana held feelings for each other for years but never intervened; to see the story unfold was so much fun. Honeyed has everything going for it: it's a small-town romance with best friends to lovers who have swoon-worthy chemistry, which will put you up for a fun ride. I was hooked from the start and didn't put the book down. I can't wait to see where the series will go next. I was provided with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
