Was soll ich sagen ?
Throne in the dark hat mich positiv überrascht.
The beginning of the book was a little hard for me to get through, especially the very beginning. Learning about their world and their gods without those being interesting to me at the time wasn't easy. Also, as a non-native speaker, I sometimes had trouble understanding everything - despite understanding all the words, and despite not usually having this problem while reading english books. My second, more personal problem was, that I'm a big villain romance fan, so I have certain expectations, and Damien doesn't really met those, not even in the beginning.
But after that, the book is amazing. Damien isn't a "true evil" villain, and there's quite a bit of comedy in the book - which isn't usually my thing - but in this case, some things made even me laugh, and I like that the story is still serious even with all the jokes within. Damien's mix of caring and still evil is endearing and in itself understandable, the way it is written. Emma, too, is a great character, they're both interesting and you can really feel how well they connect with each other. Love their banter and how they treat each other. And I really, really love the way Damien's appearance is written. The way he's described, the image of a perfect, hot, villainy guy comes easily into my mind. So perfect!
Also, the slow burn is slowly burning.
