Check out content warnings beforehand. There are very dark themes in this. I think the beginning and the break are predictable, but I still enjoyed where the story takes off from there on. Especially because it shows how far Gemma has come since the first book. But not only her, Isaiah as well. I love that he is such a goner for Gemma, and I could punch him for the moves he pulls when he wants to keep her away. However, the twists are great. Overall it might be more “saw that coming“ than the first book, but I enjoyed it very much. 4/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
