Professional football player x Senator ... now that's an interesting premise! The book centered perfectly around the core conflict of the closeted baseball player who is desperate not to ruin his career or disappoint his family. You could absolutely feel the story's main goal, and the execution was spot on. The simultaneous fear, longing, and mixture of emotions were incredibly relatable. Although the storyline spanned a longer period, it never felt slow; the development of their feelings and the start of their dating life fit the pace perfectly. I really enjoyed watching them fall in love.

In the deepest of deep closets football player falls in love with the very out and loud, and very public senator. I was expecting a very angsty novel about a horrible coming-out or a heart-breaking break-up due to not coming out but the romance between Anson and Weston is rather low-angst and quite sweet. The nicknames felt icky to me, but that's a personal problem.

Anson und West haben mir wirklich gut gefallen und ich fand auch den Umgang mit dem Druck vorm Coming Out im Profisport sehr realistisch. Das Buch hatte insbesondere zu Beginn ein paar Längen, daher hatte ich so meine Probleme, in die Geschichte zu finden, aber dann hat sie immer mehr an Fahrt aufgenommen. Und wie toll ist bitte Elias als Sidecharacter??

Ich hab’s geliebt, zu lesen wie sehr sich Anson in dem Buch entwickelt hat, zu sehen wie aus dem schüchternen Sportler der geworden ist der er am Ende war, war so toll und so aufregend. Ich hab ihm jeden Meilenstein gegönnt. Mit Weston hatte er da genau den richtigen Mann an seiner Seite. Viel gibts nicht dazu zu sagen, ein typisches Riley Hart Buch, mit viel Spice, viel liebe und einer sehr netten Storyline.
