A book written by an SCP fan for SCP fans. The story is neither told chronologically nor is it wholly upfront about what is happening. It, at its core, revolves around memories, their loss, and their alterations. So neither you nor the characters have all the information needed to fully grasp the plot at multiple instances, only coming fully together after a good chunk of the book. So if you're up for a possibly slightly mindbending experience, you'll have quite a good time with this one. I do have to admit that the ending didn't feel 100% satisfying, but the journey made the whole read worth it. (Also, shout out to my MVP Sunshine)

Not only is this book asynchronous it contains different planes of reality. Combine those aspects with a dense, twisted plot and out comes… this. What is it exactly? I cannot say. It was interesting to read, something different for sure. Did I understand it? Probably not entirely. Is it meant to be understood? I honestly doubt that. If I look at this writing in the same way I contemplate an abstract painting - considering the different layers and structures, different colours, thinking about what I can see and speculating about what I cannot - I would say that this is an intriguing book. This is not enjoyable for the masses; it is for people who don’t mind a convoluted story line that is as antimemetic as the subject of the story.

It's a bit experimental and unconventional, i give you that, but if you don't mind or like me actually want stuff like that, you'll propably enjoy this. It seems to confuse a lot of people because *spoiler* it's not written chronologically and it plays around a lot with themes of remembering and forgetting, so not all the infos you get may necessarily be true or real. I would recommend it for those looking for something a bit different, weird and challenging it's readers.

I was extremely intrigued by the concept of an 'Antimeme' (an idea that does not want to be shared or cannot be shared and has self-preservation mechanisms that compel you to forget it the moment you encounter it). But the disjointed stories about a woman in the Antimemetics Division fighting spider-like monsters (manifestations of an antimeme) quickly became too silly for my taste. So, maybe this book itself acts as an Antimeme. I immediately forgot everything about it and have no desire to share any information about the content.

Ganz ehrlich, dieses Buch war unheimlich spannend und ich habe es nicht freiwillig auf die Seite gelegt, aber es war schon etwas verwirrend. Es ist meine erste Alien Invasion Dystopie, daher war die Geschichte und auch das Sci-Fi Horror Genre an sich etwas völlig neues für mich. Die Handlung war sehr schnellgehend, und ehrlich gesagt hätte ich vermutlich öfter zurückblättern müssen um die Geschichte wirklich zu verstehen oder alternativ alles in einem Schwung lesen müssen. Der Schreibstil hat mir sehr gut gefallen und ich hätte sehr gerne mehr gelesen. Ich hoffe es bleibt nicht nur bei der Geschichte!
