Reread (10/24/21): This is still one of my favourite reads. It leaves you with good vibes and a smile on your face. Both protagonists are so incredibly sympathetic, you just gotta love them. With every book of hers I've read, I'm amazed at how Carrie Aarons manages to create these sweet yet believable characters. You see them go through a change and overcome obstacles, acknowledging their flaws and becoming a better person. It's something that makes me happy; reading about characters that are relatable, watching them grow throughout the story. Original (09/11/20): Love at First Fight is an enemies-to-lovers romance novel by Carrie Aarons. And yet again, she did a fantastic job with it. The reader gets to meet school teacher Molly Archer and restaurateur Smith Redfield. She is his best friend's girlfriend - well, was. After getting dumped via text, an hour before her boyfriend took off in a plane to move to Singapore, her excitement to spend the summer in the Hamptons with her ex's closest friends was probably non-existent. Best friend by her side, she decides to give it a go and face Smith, who has made his resentment towards her very clear from the beginning. Little did she know, Smith has been in love with Molly since the day they met. Being a good best friend, he keeps his distance. And pretending to hate her seems to be easier anyway. But now that Molly's single, spending the summer with Smith and his friends, it becomes harder to keep up his charade. With both of them, Aarons created two brilliant and sympathetic protagonists. I couldn't put this book down; read it in one sitting. They're so passionate about what they do; so believable characters with their own set of flaws and struggles. As a reader, this is the best things that can happen. Molly and Smith are one of those couples that you have to root for from the start. I honestly loved this book from page one. Carrie Aarons is such a talented writer and proves it again and again. Love at First Fight definitely belongs to my group of favourites. [I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.]
