In love with Priest
I love the different characters, but I am especially in love with Priest. Could not stop reading and was up too late at night. Sometimes I rolled my eyes very hard. The plottwist left me shocked. Looking forward to book #2
To be completely honest, I picked this book up as a smut break between two major fantasy series and I did pick it up, because I stumbled over a video on booktok featuring a small part of this. I need to stop reading books just because of things like these, because if you've read Den of Vipers, you can absolutely skip this one, as the characters are so incredibly much alike. Basement-Knox, serious Gage, troubled Priest and gambling Ash are the DoV-Group copy-pasted, but with poorer choice of words. It's not bad, per sé, but as the similarities are so very obvious it kind of gets tedious to read.
A very entertaining why choose book. I read first and second book so far. I really enjoyed River, she is strong, fearless, a great character! All four guys are very likable, I felt the connection between all of them! Of course, Knox is the best written one
Grundstory top aber die Umsetzung hat so gaaar nicht zu mir gesprochen. Ja es ist Mafia aber können die nicht zumindest irgendwann mal 5 Minuten nett zueinander sein? Zumindest ein bisschen? Wenn denn überhaupt ein wenig Chemie mit einem der Dudes vorhanden wäre… Charakterentwicklung war auch eher nicht vorhanden und wenn oben nicht die Namen gestanden hätten, wüsste ich nicht welcher der Jungs es ist so ähnlich sind sie sich.
