‼️TW: Violence, graphic torture, murder, abduction, mention of rape & kidnapping/human trafficking ‼️ For starters, I’d like for the author to add trigger warnings in the beginning of the book. Otherwise I liked the book, loved the more in depth inside on Boxer, his personality and more of his history. I would’ve loved Boxer‘s pic tho, I think it would’ve benefited the plot and wouldn’t have been as graphic on the dark topics. This time the storyline was a lot darker and for me personally didn’t make a lot of sense. Linden got kidnapped by the rival cartel, but why not Mia? And while reading the book, as the reader, you didn’t get any hints that she might get in danger. One could disagree and say that’s part of the plottwist but yeah, idk. I did like Linden as the mc, liked the chemistry between Boxer and her. I appreciate the honestly about choosing this type of lifestyle. I also liked the pacing on the dating aspects, I felt more believable instead of the forced-proximity-insta-love trope of book 1. This book did leave me with a few questions; Why did her father try to contact her? What happened to Jerry? What happened to her Mother? Why did Colt pressure Mia to get inked but Linden could wait till I was mentioned in the epilog? I really thought that the drama would have been bc of Linden‘s mother. Her invading her privacy again, the different class status etc and not some random cartel kidnapping the unofficial/not inked old lady of a club member without a title. Also, the nurses annoyed me. They need to learn to respect boundaries about the privacy of others.
