This whole book can only be summarized by these words: what the fuck just happened!? I am glad to see fellow readers share my sentiment here. Connie is a high schooler who lives with her mom and sister. Her mom started a family vlog which has afforded the three of them a comfortable lifestyle. Connie cracks under the pressure of being performative for a camera. I can understand why, but some of her choices don't make sense and are frankly dumb. I was so excited to read this book with my friend. The premise was interesting but the execution absolutely failed here. Family vlogging as a thriller book? Very relatable to society today, I want to read this premise but actually well-done. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know. A lot of this book was filled with fluff, and I'm not talking about the justifiable kind. This book should have been at least 50 pages shorter. The twists didn't make sense, the ending didn't make sense, the pacing didn't make sense, I felt disappointed. "I never knew there was this much darkness inside her."

I'm still pissed!

The beginning was a bit too on the nose for me and things got repeated far too often. Then the creepy stuff begins and I enjoyed the paranoia growing. I was just about to really enjoy this book, unsure who to trust and what to make of the multitude of people acting slightly off, and wondering what the hell was going on an who's to blame... but then THAT revelation came. The motives made no sense to me, not enough to act like THAT. And the last 2 or 3 sentences made it even worse. Sorry, but I hated that ending/conclusion. It spoiled the whole enjoyment from before. I'm only giving 2 stars instead of one because there were parts that were really good and engaging (though ruined by that conclusion).
