House of Rizzo is soap manufacture from 1920. Story about independence, inheritance, legacy and family.

Renato and Marianna tragically died in a car accident. Giuseppe their son wants nothing to do with soap and everything. He sells family business for his marine dreams. His children Agnese and Lorenzo react differently. Italy, family, business and soap. Generational father-son trauma: Renato was harsh with Giuseppe, who was neglecting his own children. Spoilers ahead: Giuseppe’s choice breaks family. Agnese stays and works for new owner. Lorenzo leaves and works in their uncle’s gallery. She marries for love and leaves small town. He leaves his girlfriend and marries for money. He comes back and buys factory back. At what cost? Their father died because of him (at least partially), his ex-girlfriend becomes a famous actress, he doesn’t talk with his sister. Some details were left unclear: did Agnese continue to invent soap and such? Why in the end factory is still abandoned? What happened with Lorenzo? Nice details: rich culture - mentions of books and movies (historically accurate as far as I can tell); gay Luigi living in his closet and Markell who dumped him. In conclusion, between family and family business/legacy choose family.
