I've hardly ever been this annoyed and disappointed by a book. The idea sounded fascinating, and I'm sure the story could have been intriguing and clever. But the way it was told was so horribly boring and predictable (as were the cliché-laden characters) that I actually started skimming after the first quarter of the book. I'd give minus stars here if that were possible. And I left the book in a public bookcase, which might actually have been a mean move because now someone else might be plagued by it. But I just can't destroy books.
