I think I liked the next few chapters of this story a lot more in terms of suspense. Compared to the beginning, there was a lot more action. Willa develops in this volume and has to make difficult decisions. It was interesting to read about her struggling with the consequences of the first few chapters and how she tries to overcome them. Even though the responsibility that she has to carry now, she is still optimistic and tries to see the best in any situation. What I liked a bit less in her development is the romantic tension (if it is meant to be one?) between her and a new character. That felt a little unnecessary, especially considering that I believe she already has a love interest. I like that the story doesn't focus on the romance, but this instance felt a bit out of place. In the end it also felt meaningless so I don't know why it was there. Anyway, that's part of my personal taste. The art style is, once again, top notch. Everything looks really pretty, even though I could have done with less giant insects. I haaaate insects. The plot twists were also interesting and they transformed this journey into a race. The next volume will probably be even more suspenseful and I'm looking forward to reading it!
