This is my first steampunk themed graphic novel and it got me straight away. The illustrations are wonderful and even though the story is somewhat predictable, they do not fail to creat an enchanting, dark atmosphere with humor and characters you want to get to know better. Lady Mechanika is a known hero of her city. She and her associate follow lead after lead to find out what made her the way she is today, with no clue who she used to be. Uncovering her past, beating bad guys and trying to save others from her fate all while maintainig class and never loosing her quick wits. If the story doesn't draw you in, then the beautiful illustrated world sure will!

Erster Band einer Steampunkserie über eine mechanisch verbesserte Agentin (?): Eine tolle Welt, viele schöne Zeichnungen, trotzdem bin ich nicht so ganz reingekommen. Dafür war mir die Story etwas wirr, mir scheint, es werden zu viele unterschiedliche Elemente gleichzeitig eingeführt, sodass der Fokus etwas verloren geht. Der Band endet sehr plötzlich mit einem Cliffhanger. Gestört hat mich die etwas zu sexualisierte Darstellung der Protagonistin. Den zweiten Band möchte ich noch ausprobieren. – 3/5
