3.25⭐ I've enjoyed all the Lee Winter books I've read previously, this one is definitely my least favorite. Unfortunately I was just uninterested in the plot, I thought it would be more interesting than it was. Towards the middle the story was picking up a little but it quickly got boring again to the point where I didn't really care anymore. The characters were completely fine, felt exactly like all the other characters she writes. I always love her ice queens. I sadly wasn't that invested in the romance either, after reading the majority of her books it all starts to feel rather similar so it was obvious where this would go. Probably won't read the second book.

Solide erzählte Romantic Suspense-Geschichte über zwei verfeindete Reporterinnen, die eine finanzpolitische Verschwörung aufdecken und sich dabei näherkommen. - Fokus auf investigativem Journalismus (Spuren nachgehen, Beteiligte befragen, vor gegnerischen Agenten flüchten) - Parallel dazu wird kribbelig und glaubwürdig erzählt, wie aus dem angespannten Schlagabtausch von Lauren und Catherine nach und nach eher Flirterei und dann echte Gefühle werden. - Kern der Verschwörung hat Potenzial, superduper creepy zu sein, war mir dann aber etwas zu nüchtern erzählt
