This one kind of threw me off the story a little. I was so excited for Sam to be reunited with Haley and the reunion felt like a huge flop. It was like, "oh my god, it's sam! ...hey" I get that it was awkward, but the man managed to stay alive for weeks on his own, at least give him a hug. It was kind of nice to see them all in their own elements but this book didn't really have their relationship as a main focus anymore. At least not as much as the first one was. It's turned into a murder mystery. Unfortunately my least favorite genre of all. I hate mystery for all the not knowing and being kept in suspense. I have that in real life, I am not searching for it in my romance books. So it's more of a preference thing. Because of the excerpt, I've been waiting for the pirate attack since page one. Turns out, they literally showed up within the last 3 pages. I don't think I'll be continuing the series, but I might look up other books from the author!
