I like that here, the male protagonist is obsessed with the female one. He is consistently pursuing her but stays respectful of her wishes most of the times. The only thing that actually annoyed me in this book is, that a lot of the problems could have been avoided, if they had just been honest with each other. Mainly, if Lucia had been honest with Garreth. Other than that, I enjoyed reading it. I also enjoy, that other characters from the book series come up sporadically and unexpectedly. That, and the fact that I like the world of the Lore, make me want to read more of the series. So all in all, if you’re looking for a light, entertaining and cute romance novel, and have gotten used to the direct writing style, this is the book for you.

Update 2021: Wooooooooow geht bei der Übersetzung doch viel verloren! Es ist zwar nicht das einfachste Englisch zum Lesen, durch die vielen Anspielungen und Umgangssprache, aber Garreth MacRieve mit dem schottischen Akzent ist noch mal viel heißer geworden! Da muss ich mir erst mal Lachlains und Bowens Geschichte im Original besorgen, für noch mehr bloidy hell, lass! Hrrrr! Review 2020: Garreth und Lucia - nicht unbedingt mein Lieblingspaar aus Immortals After Dark, aber doch eines, dem ich viel abgewinnen konnte! Werwölfe und Walküren sind schließlich zwei meiner liebsten Arten aus dem Mythos. Zudem kommt hier nicht nur ein fast unüberwindbares Hindernis zwischen die beiden, zwischen denen von Anfang an die Funken fliegen. Wie soll Lucia bei ihrem Keuschheitsgelübde und ihrem Auftrag jemals Garreths Gefährtin werden können? Noch dazu ist die Abenteuerreise an den Amazonas wirklich detailreich, gut ausgestaltet und mal etwas anderes als das ständige Chaos in der Mythenwelt und die New Orleans / Schottland-Szenerie. Noch dazu kommt, dass das Buch zu einer Zeit beginnt, noch bevor Emma und Lachlain sich treffen, weil Lucia und Garreth einfach länger brauchen. Dadurch kommen einige bekannte und geliebte Charaktere wieder ins Spiel und man trifft auch Ausblicke auf zukünftige Bände. Dass die Liebesgeschichte eines Paares zwar im Vordergrund steht, alles aber nahtlos verzahnt ist und man auch auf zukünftige Paare und Begegnungen hinfiebern kann, mag ich besonders an dieser Reihe und dies kam bei "Flammen der Begierde" gut raus!
