It´s quite a classic, to a point where parodies and adaptations are far better known as the original, I guess. I was very familiar of the plot just from watching random youtube videos. The story is really successful in creating suspense and making you feel for the character. The atmosphere is great. The German audio version I listened to was fantastic, too. I'm just not sure I would be interested in reading a whole collection of stories like this, so if anyone reads this: Are all Lovecraft stories like this (the character taking a long time to discover whats up with very little actually happening)? I didn't mind it here, because it was done effectively, but a few stories like this in a row could get tiresome, maybe? That doesn't change that I enjoyed it, even though I knew where it was going.
