Vor allem, dass Jimmy berühmt und Angel ein Fangirl ist, hat mich richtig begeistern können. Auch die Entwicklung nicht nur von den beiden Protas, sondern auch von Lister, Rowan, Juliet und Bliss fand ich richtig gut umgesetzt und habe mit ihnen mitgefiebert. Besonders Angels Entwicklung hat mich sehr überrascht. Ich wusste, dass sie irgendwann die Erkenntnis bekommen würde, aber um ehrlich zu sein, dachte ich, dass es ein bisschen früher passiert und mich hat dann doch etwas gestört, dass sie nicht früher und von sich aus, auf Juliet zugegangen ist. 💕Es gibt keine klassische Lovestory, wie man es vielleicht erwarten würde. Es geht viel mehr um die Liebe zu sich selbst und zu den Freundys und Menschen um sich herum, was mMn genauso wichtig, wenn nicht sogar noch wichtiger ist. 🖋Ich liebe einfach den Schreibstil von Alice Oseman! Es ist so angenehm geschrieben, dass ich nur so durch die Seiten geflogen bin und ich die Zeit und die Welt um mich herum komplett vergessen konnte 🏁Die Geschichte hat mich von Anfang bis Ende richtig begeistern können, wobei mir die Szene mit Listers Unfall am Ende etwas zu viel war das hätte man bestimmt auch anders lösen können. Generell mochte ich aber, dass es so viel um Musik ging und so viele wichtige Themen angesprochen wurden, wie zum Beispiel Panikattacken, Angststörungen, Alkoholsucht, Druck und viele mehr. Ich hätte mir nur vielleicht gewünscht, dass Angel früher und vor allem von sich aus auf Juliet zugegangen wäre und nicht Juliet extra hätte nach Kent kommen müssen ✨️Das Setting fand ich richtig cool. Vor allem auch die Musikbranche und deren "dunklere" Seiten fand ich hier echt gut dargestellt. 🎉Insgesamt hat mir die Geschichte von Angel und Jimmy sehr gut gefallen und ich würde sie am liebsten direkt nochmal lesen! Vor allem die Annotationen von zwei Freundys haben das Buch zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht :))

Lowkey hat sich das jetzt nicht so gelohnt. Hab immer auf den großen Plot gewartet, blieb aber immer Spannungs technisch auf nen ähnlichen Level. Ich finde Angel wirkte etwas jünger als 18, tendenziell war sie aber sympathisch. Juliet, ihre Freundin war mir jetzt nur so semi sympathisch, fand sie etwas komisch, vor allem wegen der Sache mit Mac. Angel ist ja Fangirl von The Ark, war schon klar, dass sie die persönlich kennenlernt, (wofür sonst das Buch) was aber schön war, dass sie nicht so klassisch mit Jimmy zum Beispiel zusammen-gekommen ist. I mean sie hatte ja nicht mal dieses Interesse an ihm. Sondern dass sie einfach nur diese Verbindung hatten. Angel findet es nicht gut, dass heimliche Stalkerbilder von the Ark gemacht werden, schaut die sich aber trotzdem an? Wahrscheinlich lehnt sie es ab, dass diese Seiten auf denen so etwas geteilt wird existieren, aber es interessiert sie doch? Alice hat auch wirklich gut die Schattenseiten der Berühmtheit zur Geltung gebracht, wie sich das auswirkt sieht man bei jedem Bandmitglied speziell. Allerdings fand ich die Harmonie in der Band etwas komisch, da Rowan Lister immer etwas am mobben ist… Es gab natürlich auch schöne Momente in der Geschichte, wie beispielsweise mit Jimmy und seinem Großvater oder auch bei Angel und ihren Dad (er checkt einfach). Das Ende ging mir allerdings mal wieder etwas zu schnell.

Ich hatte das Buch eigentlich schon von Anfang an abgeschrieben, da ich kein Rockstar/Band-Setting mag. Aber ich habe mich wirklich getäuscht. Dennoch würde ich euch das Hörbuch empfehlen oder ihr solltet direkt auf englisch lesen. Die deutsche Übersetzung hat mir überhaupt nicht gefallen. Es geht um eine Boy-Band, die im Internet komplett durch die Decke geht. Es wird durchleuchtet, dass die scheinbar makellosen Jungs, aber Probleme mit sich selbst haben. So bekannt zu sein hat seine Schattenseiten. Das Fan sein wurde ebenfalls stark thematisiert. Dass man seine Idole zum Mittelpunkt des eigenen Lebens macht und dass man diese in den Himmel hebt, obwohl man sie überhaupt nicht kennt. Es werden viele sensible Themen behandelt, die mich echt überrascht haben. Angststörungen, Panikattacken, Alkoholmissbrauch oder Stalking sind nur ein paar Themen, die behandelt wurden. Es ist KEINE Liebesgeschichte und es kommt kein Spice vor. Wenn überhaupt ist es eine Geschichte darüber, dass man sich selbst findet. Mir hat es am Ende echt gut gefallen🩷

Soo I love Osmans writing style and how she can create characters that have actual personality and are not annoying. I loved how mundane and at the same time special this story was. I felt seen as a fan of a music band, and loved how the fans were portrayed. I loved Rowans, Jimmys and Listers relationship and the parallel story of Angel and Juliet. All in all this was a comfort book, not boring but also not an eye opening experience.

Das Buch war gut und hatte definitiv interessante und wichtige Inhalte aber ehrlich gesagt war es auch ein bisschen langweilig. Ich fand echt toll, wie sowohl die Jungs von the Ark was von Angel gelernt haben und Angel auch Dinge von der Band. Der Wandel war krass, als Angel gemerkt hat, dass man nicht nur für die Band leben kann sondern auch selbst das Leben genießen soll und das „Glücklich sein“ nicht von einer Band abhängig machen sollte. ☺️

Funny how no wifi and a stolen phone can lead to getting out of a reading slump. I am a huge fan of series Heartstopper and was really excited to actually read a novel from the author for the first time. But dont let the covertext fool you! Actually I nearly put this book away for its premise. It starts with this girl Angel travelling to London to go to a concert from her favorite band with her online bestie. There are quite A FEW references to another irl british boyband and I thought great... another Wattpadesk story about a naive „not like the other girls" girl having a fateful meeting with some guy very similar to Harry Styles (Im still scarred from „The Idea of You" 💀). But oh HOW THIS BOOK TURNED AROUND QUICKLY THANK GOD. I dont want to spoil anything but I want to say, that this book revolves about themes like: Finding your own identity, growing up, escapism and struggling with mental illness. It is really touching and I cried several times. The characters were written in such an approachable way. You can see the main character really grow throughout the story, not only in her actions but also how the writing style changes reflecting the way she thinks and talks. I often found myself relating a little too much..For example the topic of dealing with reality and wanting to escape it so bad that you try anything to keep the illusion of the things you adore alive…What I especially like in Alice Oseman’s books is the way she writes diversity with such ease and authenticity. The representation never feels like a side note: it’s woven naturally into the characters lives and relationships. It adds layers to the narrative and makes her worlds feel both real and welcoming. Overall 5/5👏

Definitely wasn’t what I had expected. At first it was really tough to get used to the writing style of the author, I even needed a few weeks to adjust. The story itself and the differing life of the characters is quite interesting. I especially liked that I could identify more with the male lead, which normally doesn’t happen in this kind of way. And even tho I liked the idea of a main character with an unusual cultural background, I am not a fan of how they transferred that to the reader.

(spoiler alert !!) not one of my fav prose novels from alice but a good read! maybe this book also wasn't the most relatable to me cause i never really understood the concept of deep celebrity-fandom. but i enjoyed reading about it and i think i understand it a lot better now. in the beginning i really thought angel was just a crazy fan girl that makes everything in her life about the ark (which she did obv) but her character development was just beautiful! she had the adventure of her life, gained true friendships and realized that shes so much more than just a fan girl. my highlight was how three stars turned into "normal people" to angel and she saw jimmy and the ark for who they truly are. young grown-ups who struggle just as much as her to find their destined ways. i generally think we should relativize the meaning of "stars". we worship celebrities and devote ourselves to them when our true recognition would be equally or even more deserved by the very ordinary people in our everyday lives. but thats just what i think. ✨🎸

Man weiß eigentlich nie so ganz was einen erwartet bei Alice. Aber man weiß einfach, dass man die Charaktere und die Story einfach mögen wird. Ich hab einfach dieses Vertrauen in Alice, dass sie eine weitere wertvolle Geschichte gezaubert hat. Ich finds einfach toll, dass ihre Bücher ganz anders sind als alles was ich sonst so kenne. Dieses Buch war keine Ausnahme, es war sogar etwas krasser zum Ende als ich erwartet hab. Sie thematisiert immer wieder Themen, die für einige tabuisiert werden. Panikattacken & Fandom sind die zwei grossen Themen. Es geht um Liebe, aber keineswegs im klassischen Sinn, sondern viel tiefgreifender und auf ganz anderen Ebenen. Und vor allem geht es um Freundschaft. Wenn Alice eins kann, dann ist es Freundschaft so schön darzustellen, dass du gern mit in die Clique aufgenommen werden willst. Außerdem gehts drum, dass man am Ende des Tages vor allem Liebe für sich selbst übrig haben sollte und das vieles einfach nicht so ist wie es scheint.

Just wanted to read something inbetween the classics and ended up reading it in one go, just like the last Alice Oseman book :') If you've ever been in a fandom, specially in a band fandom, this will have an uncanny familiar feeling for you. It shows how you can be consumed by your passion for someone or something but ultimately the thing you should love most will always be yourself. It might feel as if you're born for loving this one particular thing with all your passion. And you will meet so many people who share your passion. Fandoms are beautiful - just don't lose yourself in a illusion.

Would have been 5 tbh if it wasn’t for the last couple of pages (didn’t vibe with one of them ending up in a ditch tbh) but yesss over all a fun read!!! I loved the fact that fandom behavior was criticized on one hand and on the other it was also acknowledged how fangirls can just never love whatever they love in peace, there’s always gotta be someone who turns it into something ridiculous and stupid and that’s just not fair.

Angel ist Fan von The Ark. Durch ihr Fan-Sein hat sie online Freunde kennengelernt, und mit einer von ihnen trifft sie sich zum ersten Mal IRL in London für ein Konzert. Jimmy ist Teil von The Ark, aber er ist eben auch viel mehr als das. Als die beiden sich zufällig begegnen, passiert eine Menge verrücktes Zeug. Eine Geschichte über Realitätsflucht und Freundschaft und über das, was mir Freude macht im Leben: Menschen um mich haben, die es gut mit mir meinen und bei denen ich einfach ich selbst sein kann.

Wie jedes andere Buch von Oseman hat Iwbft wunderbare Charaktere und Freundschaft als Core-Theme. Die aufgeteilt Struktur in Tage und auf zwei MCs (Angel, eine der Fans von Ark und Jimmy, den Lead-Singer von Ark) stellt die moderne Fan-Kultur von zwei sehr verschiedenen Seiten sehr gut dar. Ich liebe die Charaktere so so viel, da alle ihre Struggle und Geheimnisse haben, die sie ausmachen. Definitiv viele meiner Lieblings-Charaktere im Oseman-Verse und meine Favorite-Storyline von allen. :]

Dieses Buch habe ich schon von längerer Zeit einmal begonnen und nun endlich beendet. Ich hatte eine längere Leseflaute und nachdem es nun schon seit geraumer Zeit wieder bergauf geht, habe ich mich endlich daran gesetzt, ein weiteres Buch von Alice Oseman zu beenden. Eine Geschichte über Angel, eine junge Erwachsene, die für ihre Lieblingsband alles tun würde und Jimmy, den Frontsänger genau dieser Band, der sich nicht mehr so sicher ist, ob der dem ganzen Ruhm gewachsen ist. Durch fast schon ein paar zu viele Zufälle kommt Angel der Band The Ark sehr nahe und muss sehr schnell lernen, dass die Jungs nicht die perfekten Idole sind, für die sie sie gehalten hat. Dennoch würde sie für The Ark (fast) alles aufs Spiel setzen und streitet sich darüber nicht nur mit ihrer Familie, sondern auch mit Juliet, ihrer Internetfreundin mit der sie sich für das The Ark Konzert zum ersten Mal trifft. Im Laufe des Buches lernt man durch die zwei Perspektiven vor allem Angel und Jimmy genauer kennen. Wie sie lernen, dass nicht immer alles nur schwarz und weiß ist, ihre eigenen Erfahrungen machen und Entscheidungen treffen oder nicht treffen. Ich fand, es war eine interessante Geschichte, auch hinter den Kulissen der Band. Aber es hat mich auch nicht komplett mitgerissen. Das Buch war nicht extrem gut, aber auch nicht schlecht. Für einen schnellen Read zwischendurch durchaus geeignet. Auch die englische Version lässt sich leicht und schnell lesen .

Oseman zeigt auf wunderbare Weise, wie (platonische und romantische) Liebe und Freundschaft auf unkonventionelle Weise entstehen können und wie wichtig es ist, sich nicht zu verlieren, sich viel eher selbst zu finden. Auch, wenn das Leben chaotisch ist. Ich liebe die Botschaft dieses Buches – sich selbst treu zu bleiben, egal, wie kompliziert das Leben wird. 💕 Der Coming-of-Age-Roman hallt unerwartet nach, regt zum Nachdenken an und bringt trotzdem so viel Leichtigkeit mit. Er lehrt uns, uns von Vorurteilen freizumachen und unvoreingenommen auf die Menschen, die uns umgeben, zuzugehen. »I Was Born for This« ist ein absolutes Must-Read für Fans von Alice Oseman und alle, die Geschichten lieben, die das Herz erwärmen und zum Nachdenken bringen. 🌟

Angel might be the most relatable character I've ever seen in a book, Jimmy's PoV gave me a lot of food for thought. As a fan™ myself this book was absolutely perfect, I even went as far as to mark some sentences up that I wanted to show to people to make them understand how I feel when I'm really passionate about a thing-- and normally I hate highlighting books while reading, I only ever do it for university, never for myself. But Alice Oseman's genius way of giving insight into a fan's mind basically forced me to get out my stick it notes and highlighters and get to work :D if you've ever been a fan of a celebrity to the point where you get irrationally happy once someone mentions their name or their face appears on your social media feed... This book is for you. Read it. Distracted half a star for some plotlines that were a bit over the top/unrealistic (but this is a YA novel, so it's not so unrealistic after all I guess... There are worse ones :'))

“Most adults see teenagers as confused kids who don't understand much, while they're the pillars of knowledge and experience and know exactly what is right at all times. I think the truth is that everyone in the entire world is confused and nobody understands much of anything at all.” A powerful story about friendships and fandom. This book is filled with lots of diverse, likeable and multi-layered characters that each have their own struggles, but are also more than their struggles and their "diverse characteristic". As a fangirl myself, it felt very nostalgic to read about internet best friends and their shared love for a band - The Arc gave me major 5 Seconds of Summer vibes, but in a reminiscent/good way! I just felt that the conclusion came very suddenly and I was hoping for a more "wrapped up" way, a little more exploration of the characters after resolving the conflict. Overall though? It was another great Alice Oseman book and I am a little bit terrified that I only have one more book of hers left to read (Radio Silence) - like, what am I gonna do after??

I think the first half was kind of boring and very slow paced, but like halfway through i got into the characters and invented in the situation and stuff like that and like the last 100 pages were an absolute emotional rollercoaster but that was worth it. I really liked the way Alice Oseman introduces a character and you don't get to know everything about them directly but you get to know the character slowly. I think thats part of why i like Alice Osemans writing so much. It was an absolute blast reading this, even when its not in my favs from Alice! 

The book was better than I expected. It didn’t feel like an Alice Oseman book sometimes, but i love the diverse characters that are very much Alice Oseman like. If you are fangirling over a band, this book gives a good perspective and reminds you that stars are also just people. It‘s also kind of a mirror that having a good intention doesn’t necessarily make the effect of your action positive. I feel like this book is especially dedicated to fans who like their idols more than themselves.

I already knew I would give this 5 stars before I even started reading it xD. I feel like I‘m not really good explaining what is the ✨magic✨ of Alice Oseman books for me or why I love them soo much. But these are literally stories I refer to when I feel like I need a hug or something. It‘s something about the characters and how they think… they think like me! I feel so understood by them ❤️ Francis Janvier from Radio Silence IS me literally and also Angel and her way Talking about the Ark- I FEEL YOU. I loved that this was a lot about fan culture, I loved the writing style, I loved the dynamics between Jimmy, Rowan and Lister. I‘m pretty deep into Måneskin fandom and I feel like the ark completely match their vibe. In the end the plot was once more a bit too wild, not that realistic - bit similar to Solitaire- but still… THIS WAS SO SPECIAL 🥹 And the last of her novels I read for the first time… hope she will come up with sth new one day <3

And hold on to something that'll keep them going.” This is not my favorite book of hers but it's not bad, it's actually pretty good but it wasn't really for me. I'm glad i read it and i'd still recommend it. What i liked about it was how real it was, there wasn't romance just pur honesty and i loved that aspect. The beginning of the book was a bit boring tbh, but the ending was awesome and as always the representation is great. Alice Oseman did something different with this book and the dual pov was perfect to show how the same thing might affect others and that no one is perfect.

🎸💫❤️ Mein erster Roman von Alice Oseman und ich bin positiv überrascht. Ich habe mich bewusst dazu entschieden, dieses Buch als erstes (also vor Solitaire, Loveless und Radio Silence), da ich im Internet viel positives dazu gelesen habe und ich wollte, dass mir mein erster Roman von Alice gut gefällt. Ich fand an dem Buch vor Allem die Thematik super und ich mochte den Wechsel zwischen der Perspektive eines Fangirls und einem Sänger aus einer berühmten Boyband. Mir hat es gefallen, dass man gezeigt bekommen hat, dass berühmte Menschen halt auch nur Menschen sind. Auch die verschiedenen Charaktere waren super. Ich habe sie alle geliebt und ich fand es interessant mehr über jeden einzelnen und dessen Probleme herauszufinden. Vor allem Angel mochte ich sehr gerne und es hat mit irrsinnig gut gefallen zu sehen, dass sie den Weg zu sich selbst zurück findet. Eine Sache hat mich beim Lesen jedoch überrascht, denn ich dachte es würde sich bei dem Buch um eine Liebesgeschichte zwischen den beiden Protagonistin handeln, was im Endeffekt nicht so war. Enttäuscht hat mich dies aber nicht, denn das Buch ist so perfekt, wie es ist!

what a beautiful, beautiful book. i loved it so much: it had an exciting story, the BEST characters, and it made me think about a lot of stuff. alice oseman really creates human, complex, flawed, and most of all, extremely loveable characters - i wanted to be friends with them all! to combine the themes of faith, religion, identity and fandom is just genius. also, iwbft looks very closely at what people seem to be like in the outside in comparison to what they‘re like on the inside, which was my favourite part. it was an emotional rollercoaster as well and at the same time a super fun read! definitely recommend that one!

You can tell I only read romance books because I was waiting for the romance in this book for the entire time and I was creating theories of who was going to end up with who but in the end basically everyone was single but to be honest this book was good in so many other aspects that it didn’t even bother me that much. Alice Oseman is really starting to turn into one of my favorite authors. Her writing style is so easy to read and to follow and the chapters are short. My god I love short chapters. I think she probably is the author who has the most diversity in her book without it seeming forced at all, like Jimmy in this book being trans or Bliss being bi or whatever it just feels right and there’s not much drama about the coming out stuff and all of that like it is mostly written in other queer or sapphic books. I do have to admit that this book kind of felt like a fever dream Fan fiction and it definetly made me cringe sometimes but I still enjoyed it a lot ! „I love him. I don’t know how else to describe the feeling I have for Jimmy Kaga-Ricci. It’s not a crush. Not infatuation. I mean love in the ‘I will think about you every day for my whole life’ sense. Love, like the desperate ache to hold on to something useless, even though you know that if you threw it away, nothing would change.“ „That’s why people get into fandom and bands and stuff. They just want to hold on to something that makes them feel good. Ich liebe die Bücher von Alice Oseman weil die Geschichten irgendwie außergewöhnlich sind. Nicht so in einem Schema wie andere. Das Cover sieht toll aus und ist eine Zierde fürs Bücherregal. Der Schreibstil ist sehr angenehm. Man kommt gut voran beim Lesen. Das Wordbuilding ist klasse. Die Charaktere sind außergewöhnlich und interessant. Angel und Jimmy sind beides außergewöhnliche Persönlichkeiten. Angel ein Fan und Jimmy ein Mitglied einer sehr bekannten Band. Trotzdem lerne beide durch einen eher nicht so schönen Zufall sich kennen. Die Themen die angesprochen werden sind ernst aber sehr gut in die Geschichte eingefügt worden. Ein tolles Buch!

Pünktlich zum Start der 2 Staffel Heartstopper habe ich gestern Alice Osemans aktuellen YA Roman "I was born for this" zuende gelesen. Ich hab wirklich nicht erwartet, dass mich die Story so begeistern und ich soo unfassbar viel Freude am lesen haben würde. Aber ich konnte "I was born for this" nicht mehr aus der Hand legen und war an 2 Tagen durch die über 400 Seiten durch. Angel Rahimi ist mehr als nur ein Fan der Teen Boyband 'The Ark'. Sie lebt für ihre Jungs und würde für sie sogar eine Kugel einfangen. Immerhin war sie von Anfang an dabei, hat die Band bei allen Höhen und Tiefen begleitet, zwar nicht immer physisch, aber immer mental und emotional. Die einzige Person die das versteht ist ihre Internetfreundin Julie und zusammen werden sie nun die beste Woche ihres Lebens verbringen. Angel wird Julie eine Woche in London besuchen, sie werden zum The Ark Konzert gehen und zu einem meet&greet mit der Band und Angel und Julie werden endlich auch im echten Leben BFFs werden. Aber dann verläuft nicht nur die Woche mit Julie ganz anders als geplant und endet in einem großen Streit, denn plötzlich steht Angel in einem Klo vor Jimmy von The Ark und was sie da sieht, lässt sie total verwirrt zurück. Der 19 jährige Jimmy Kaga-Ricci ist Teil von The Ark, der berühmtesten Boyband Europas und hoffentlich bald auch Amerikas. Diese Woche werden sie als Band den neuen Vertrag unterzeichnen und dann werden sie noch mehr Konzerte spielen, mehr Interviews geben und noch berühmter sein. Denn das ist es, was sie als Band wollen, wovon sie immer geträumt haben. Oder? Doch immer wieder fragt sich Jimmy, ob sie als Band nicht eine große Lüge aufrecht erhalten und immer häufiger hat er mit Panikattacken zu kämpfen. Doch herauszufinden, was man wirklich will, ich ist gar nicht so einfach. Ich wünschte ich hätte Alice Osemans Bücher in meiner Teenie- und Jugendzeit lesen können. Sie beschreibt so gut, wie ich mich damals selbst so oft gefühlt habe und wir uns manchmal alle immernoch fühlen. Unverstanden, überfordert, verloren, als könnten man alles schaffen und gleichzeitig ist der nächste Schritt schon viel zu viel. Die Geschichte erzählt von der Euphorie des Fanseins und der Kraft die aus einer Gemeinschaft entsteht. Wie verwirrend das Leben manchmal ist und wie wichtig Freundschaft. "I was born for this" ist keine Liebesgeschichte aber eine Geschichte mit romantischen Beziehungen und Herzschmerz. Und "I was born for this" ist keine Geschichte übers Queer sein aber die Geschichte mehrerer Menschen die LGTBGIA+ sind. "I was born for this" ist nicht nur die Geschichte berühmter Personen, sondern die Geschichte ganz normaler Jugendlicher.

At least Alice Oseman is self-aware of the fact that this book sucked because it really was like a bad fanfiction. Jesus Christ. Where to start? The book is about Angel, who meets her online best friend Juliet for the first time. She drives all the way to London to spend time with her and to go to a meet-and-greet (and concert) of their favourite band, the Ark. Angel had absolutely no personality and besides her love for the Ark, the reader doesn't know anything about her. She lives vivaciously through the internet. The story is told from a dual perspective, since Jimmy, one of the Ark's members, also has a POV. His side of the story was absolutely unnecessary though. Oh, the struggles of being famous! A real plot wasn't really there. Juliet and Angel meet, have a boring time, Jimmy has to sign a new contract and then - gasp! - Jimmy and Angel meet in a bathroom during the meet and greet. Things go downhill from then. Jimmy carries a knife with him at all times, it's a family heirloom (and I couldn't care less about it...) yet he loses it in the bathroom. He thinks Angel stole it and they arrange a meeting at King's Cross, where Jimmy suffers from a panic attack. Angel shields him from the fans, and they drive to his grandfather together. Because obviously a world famous singer wants to spend time with a fan. There, Jimmy decides to leave the band, but the band arrives at his grandfather's place as well. And so does Juliet. And Bliss, the girlfriend of Rowan, Jimmy's band member. What a nice get-together! So realistic! One could praise Oseman for the diversity of the book: Angel is Muslim, and Jimmy is a transgender singer. However, what I disliked the most, was the fact that Angel and Juliet were so obsessed with Rowan and Jimmy as a couple. Shipping fictional characters is one thing, but shipping real life people is a no-go. Fans shouldn't have a say in the relationship of celebrities, and Juliet's crying was an overreaction. I couldn't wait until this book was over.
