The face of the one you love is the best mirror of all. It shows you your own happiness and your own pain and it helps you to bear both, because to bear either alone is to be overwhelmed by the flood. Now that was an unnecessary novella. Nothing happened. The story takes place in 1936 and it begins with a very long description of a carnival, which Jem is visiting with an Iron Sister, Emilia. I don’t really know why but something in this story was extremely off. I was excited when Jem mentioned Annabel because I figured this is what the story is about but no. Sister Emilia was really irrelevant and apart from the last two pages with Will and Jem, I didn’t really enjoy this short story.
