I got to know this book by the Emergence Magazine podcast episode “Shaking the Viral Tree” https://emergencemagazine.org/story/shaking-the-viral-tree/ which I strongly recommend listening to. David came through to me as knowledgeable at the same time as soft, eloquent, and a true lover of nature. A nature that he iterates is not “out there”, and not a source for our exploitation. We are part of that source in fragile equilibrium. You’ll get to understand the wholeness of a history of diseases with the continuum we live in and influence, plus the consequences of what could be our disruption, or natural evolution with our species in the picture and always as narrator.
