Review for April in Paris by Michael Wallner – ★★★★★
I read this book back in 2022 while recovering from Covid, and it left a lasting impression on me. April in Paris is an incredibly intense and emotional story set during WWII. It beautifully captures the tragic love between a French woman and a German soldier, reminding us that behind uniforms and nationalities, there are still human beings—often forced into roles they never chose. The writing is subtle yet powerful, and the emotional weight of the story stayed with me long after I finished it. A hauntingly beautiful read.
