I didn’t think that I’d be THIS sad after finishing this book. What can I say, I missed brave Raisa and witty Han almost immediately. When it comes to creating authentic characters with a lot of depth, Cinda Williams Chima definitively is a genius (well, she’s a genius regarding other things as well). But not only the main characters are very well written, the side characters are as well. Relationships are never simply black and white and friendships are so profound, that they were downright heartwarming, even though that might sound corny. I especially liked the honest and trusting relationship between Han and Dancer. The action and intrigues in this book were very well done as well. The whole plot was, actually. There is just that little detail I find myself missing. When and why exactly did Han decide to forgive Raisa’s deception and to stand by her side? Maybe I was so excited that I read too fast (again) and somehow skipped over that information. But maybe it was never clearly stated, I don’t know. Nevertheless, this was an amazing book.
