Es geht um die Elfjährige zoë, die nach dem Tod ihrer Mutter bei ihrem Onkel henry unterkommt. Sie wurde bis jetzt sehr vernachlässigt, wodurch sie sehr unabhängig und nicht allzu vertrauensselig wurde. Es geht darum wie sie sich einlebt und es entsteht ein schöner herzerwärmender Roman, der gleichermaßen gut für jugendliche und erwachsene ist. Mit den verschiedene Charakter wird man schnell warm und jeder passt mit seiner Art gut in die Geschichte. Zoë ist eine tolle Hauptfigur, manchmal vergisst man wie jung sie ist. Durch die kleinen zwischen Kapital des Katers bekommt man einen Einblick in die Vergangenheit und sie sind immer sehr witzig geschrieben. Ein schönes Buch das zum verweilen einlädt. (4/5 Sternen)

Wild Things tells the story of Zoe, who hasn't had the best childhood. After both her parents pass away, she moves to her uncle Henry. There, she learns how to be a child and how to trust people. She also befriends a cat and that's probably the whole plot. I really liked the chapters that were written from the cat's perspective. Overall, the style of writing was good, but I wasn't really into the story. It was an alright read, a bit boring at some parts, and not really straightforward. I would have preferred this book to focus just on the relationship between Zoe and Henry; but the author also included a woman dying of cancer, a boy living in the woods, a rare animal, a grumpy grandma, an evil major and his not-so evil son... For a book this short, there was just a bit too much going on for my liking.
