So i had to read this in english class therefore my judgement is a bit biased... I have to say the style of writing and the idea with the timeshifts is executed very well. For a drama it was actually pretty pleasant to read. BUT this novel was kind of ecerything that the US stands for. The American dream, being suuuuper deep in dept, not earning enough money, not listening to other people even though they have a good opinion, not being cared for by the state, having to worry about your existence, and being an old white male. These things just bothered me whilst reading. The conclusion that I drew from this drama despite all the negative things was that everyone reacts different to patriachal and capitalistic structures. My favorite character in this point of view was Biff because even with bad times he realised what was good for himself and that was what mattered. So all in all it was an okay drama to read, just not my cup of tea.

What an interestingly-told tragedy. I thought this play was good, good enough to scratch the recent itch I've had for plays, but not good enough to highly praise or earn higher than a 3-star rating. Willy is a 60-year-old salesman who has been let go, his usefulness has expired. Adrift, lost, and unsure of what to do next, his mood swings dangerously as tensions with his two sons rise higher. He doesn't realize that his self-sabotaging mindset is, in large part, a factor in his great unhappiness in life.

Although the premise was interesting, I did not enjoy the book in the form of a play and found myself waiting for it to end. Willy Loman the main character in the author's own words: “When a man does not have a grip on the forces of life” That is what intrigued me to pick it up as I love a good character study but to me, I was bored halfway through but still wanted to know what would become of Willy Loman. Maybe I just can't focus on plays but it definitely can work as a short story. In the end, it leaves you thinking which is a good thing about a book that it evokes an emotion or makes you ponder life.
