Over all I want to say that I liked the story and the characters and I would recommend reading this book if you are in the mood for a university setting romcom. Jack Seary and Lucy Snow are relatable in their feelings and struggles with anxiety, expectations others have of them and how they put others before themselves. Lucy kept reminding me of Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games as she also had to take care of her mother and younger sister from a young age and having a mother who is not able to be a parent for her children. The book starts out a little slow with meeting the characters and their backstory and meeting new people in a new place along with them but generally picks up at around the halfway mark. The ending is rather sudden and fast paced. The plot twist is good and looking back at little (very very little) hints makes a lot of sense and is not as predictable as other stories are. However, in my own opinion it could have been built up a little more instead of being rather short scenes. There is one thing that made me roll my eyes whenever it came up in the book: The constant mentions of the main characters being from Newfoundland or them being Newfoundlanders. It got better as the book progressed but in the beginning there were so, so many mentions of this.

Oxford Star was a book I randomly found scrolling through Netgalley and the COver and the Despription for sure made me curious. When I read the book I really liked it. I liked the main characters and the clique gathered around them. Positive was as well the queer representation included within the group. The main story of the book was interesting and easy to follow. The english was nice and fluently to read even for me as a non-native speaker. Therefore no problems with language in here. The only thing that I didn't quite get was what the problem between our characters was. I mean yes I understood it in terms of language but why making such a big deal out of past decision lol haha. But anyway I really liked the book. I enjoyed reading it and for sure would recommend for everyone who likes a easy cute romance.
