I loved this so much I didn't want it to end. The two children we follow along this story (Mayken and Gil) are really something. They are special in the way they see the world and how connected they are to nature. For example, Mayken doesn't want one of the sailors to name the stars because she wants them to remain wild. And Gil imagines the fisher island, where he lives, to be taken back by nature and set back to its original state. Both are rebellious in their own way, although very gentle at the same time. The connection between the two is hard to describe because they live 360 years apart. But sometimes they are still so close to each other. At one point they ACTUALLY kind of meet! But I'll let you figure out how that worked π Further into the story the atmosphere becomes increasingly gloomy and grim, and the last few chapters had me holding my breath. A few tears were she'd, that's all I'm gonna say about the ending π Strong reccomemdarion from me π«Ά
