Tropes: – MMF – “little s**t“ – poly – sharing – Christmas novella – taboo

First of all, I think the first book is better. It vibes with me more. Though neither, nor the first book, nor the second, dives in too deep regarding the characters. In all honesty, I don‘t even know what Emma, Grayson and Derek‘s do for a living – I mean, regarding Derek I have an idea, but I don’t think it‘s mentioned. So even though the spice is awesome, this is something I‘m missing in these novellas. When it comes to the spicy scenes, oh my does this novella deliver once again. This is the first book series I read by Katee Robert, but I can say already she understands how to write good spice. I do like the polyamorous relationship dynamic a lot, but I feel like there is a “better“ connection between Grayson and Derek than between Emma and Derek, them being best friends and secretly pining for each other for years and all, and I‘m not sure if I like that. But it has to be said, I never felt like their dynamic shuts Emma out, or that she is less important. I rolled my eyes thoughout the amount of times Emma says “I‘m sorry“ in the first half, but I think her being the one fighting for them the hardest does make up all of that. 3/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
