I initially didn't like Soraya, but her struggle about wanting and not wanting to be with Graham was actually relatable, and she grew on me. Their getting to know each other via text was fun to follow, full of sass and teasing, but once they got together it became less exciting. They were seemingly perfect for each other and did it over and over and over again, which actually had me worried that this was turning into a very long read. However, about 150 pages (half way into the book) in I felt that the plot slowly but surely started to unfold (so hang in there!). I'd rate this at 2.5 stars if I could: The characters were good and writing was okay. The story was a bit of both. I'm afraid it was a bit too... corny? for me personally.

Their banter and tension was great. All good, all well. But it became a bit uhhhh after a while. The story took some turns I’m not sure I’m a big fan of. And some sentences made be burst out laughing because they were kinda cringe. Or some actions. *tiny spoiler* why do they all run around tattooing names of people on themselves. I know it’s fiction and wooo they are so in love but no. Bro tattooed his ex-fiancés name. And look how that ended - he had to have it covered up. I know Graham and Soraya are HEA. Together and happy till they die. But still - you don’t tattoo peoples names, that’s not family. You can never know. I also would have wished for Soraya‘s work to be broad up again in the end. She’s clearly unhappy at her job. But we don’t know what she’s doing now. Did she find her dream job? Is she a stay at home mum? Is she still working there? Since it was broad up often throughout the story, that she doesn’t like her job, but „it pays the bills“ - I would have loved for it to have its consequence for the story. Otherwise you could have just deleted that part. Why tell me again and again she hates her job, when it’s inconsequential to the story. Just let her like it then. *spoiler over* Fun quick read, that I’ll probably never read again. The set up was exciting though, I think you could have done more with it. If you’re searching for a quick fun read: that’s the one. You found it. 3

Inhalt: "One More Promise" ist der zweite Teil der "Second Chances"-Reihe. Geschrieben wurde die Reihe von den beiden Erfolgsautorinnen Vi Keeland und Penelope Ward. Diese Geschichte beginnt damit, dass der erfolgreiche CEO Graham Morgan sein Handy in der U-Bahn verliert. Soraya arbeitet für eine Frauenratgeberkolumnistin und findet das Handy. Durch sein Handy findet sie heraus wer er ist und bringt es ihm ins Büro. Ihr erstes Treffen läuft alles andere als gut ab. Es fliegen die Fetzen. Sie ist die erste, die ihm nicht jedes Benehmen durchgehen lässt. Letztendlich bleiben sie trotzdem in Kontakt. Sie lernt völlig neue Seiten von ihm kennen. Wird sie ihre Meinung von ihm ändern? Meinung: Das Cover konnte mich nicht groß überraschen. In meinen Augen ist es ein typisches Vi Keeland Cover. Es ähnelt sehr den Covern von vielen anderen ihrer Bücher. Trotzdem passt es auch zu der Geschichte. Die Schrift auf dem Cover finde ich gut gewählt. Die Schriftart und-farbe sind schlicht, aber trotzdem positiv auffallend gewählt. Es fällt auf, aber ist nicht zu aufdringlich. Übersetzt wurde das Buch von Janine Malz. Das Buch ließ sich flüssig und gut lesen. Es wird sowohl aus Sorayas als auch Grahams Sicht erzählt. Die Idee von dem Kennenlernen der beiden fand ich sehr originell und lustig. Zwischendurch hatte mich der Storyverlauf kurz überraschen können, da ich mit so einer Wendung nicht gerechnet hatte. Als diese Wendung plötzlich da war, wusste ich aber genau wie es weiter ging und genau so ungefähr lief es dann auch ab. Soraya ist eine interessante Persönlichkeit. Eigentlich mochte ich sie wirklich. Allerdings hat diese Sympathie gegen Ende nachgelassen. Ich fand ihre Einstellung und das Drama ein bisschen überflüssig beziehungsweise einfach nicht nötig. Ihren Humor fand ich hingegen gut. Besonders der schriftliche Austausch mit Graham fand ich lustig. Eine weitere gute und irgendwie auch leicht amüsante Charaktereigenschaft war ihre Haarfärberei. Ihre Familiengeschichte fand ich eine gute Idee und hat mich positiv überrascht. Bei Graham erging es mir genau andersherum. Am Anfang hatte ich Probleme mit ihm. Ich fand es nicht gut, dass er ein typischer "Machoarsch-CEO"-Charakter war. Über solche Typen gibt es schließlich genügend Bücher. Graham hatte in Wirklichkeit, aber einen guten und interessanten Charakter. Mit der Zeit wurde er mir immer sympathischer. Grahamas Oma war einfach nur toll. Dank ihrer Art konnte man sie einfach nur mögen. Sorayas Freunde konnten mich auch überzeugen. Natürlich war Chloe die süßeste. Auch einen alten Bekannten der "Second Chances"-Reihe konnte man wieder treffen. Chance hatte einen wirklich amüsanten Auftritt und hat mir Lust bereitet den ersten Band auch lesen zu wollen. Fazit: Das Buch fängt nicht nur originell und lustig an, sondern sorgt zwischendurch auch dafür, dass man grinsen muss. Ein muss für alle Fans von Vi Keeland und Penelope Ward. Auch wenn es mich nicht vollkommen überzeugen konnte, hat es Spaß gemacht es zu lesen. Ich freue mich schon darauf, den dritten Band zu lesen.

Meinung: Ich muss ja betonen, ich hab scheinbar wirklich fast immer gl√ºck mit meinen B√ºchern die ich bisher gelesen habe, ich hab fast ausschlie√ülich wirklich fesselnde B√ºcher gelesen in letzter Zeit, genau wie dieses. Die Geschichte von Chance und Aubrey ist wirklich fantastisch, bei ende von Teil 1 habe ich echt gedacht Chance du riesen *******. Sowas h√§tte ich tats√§chlich nicht erwartet. Aber Teil 2 hat wirklich alles.... und ich meine alles wett gemacht, ich hab ihn f√∂rmlich angeschmachtet f√ºr das was er f√ºr Aubrey getan hat um sie wieder zu bekommen. Und sie war einfach mit diesem bl√∂den Dick zusammen. Gl√ºcklicherweise gibt es ja dann doch noch ein Happy End 😍💑 Und der Epilog setzt auf das ganze noch mal das i t√ºpfelchen obendrauf!
