“Life can be brutal and short. There’s no reason to bring more misery and suffering into it than is absolutely necessary, and that includes the misery we inflict on ourselves.”

Yet another entry in the vast history of ‘Assassin’s Creed’. As a long-time player and fan of the series, this was my very first book of the franchise … and it was actually pretty good. A nice addition to the latest games, with a standalone story that gives more insight into one of the series’ most fascinating and intriguing characters: Basim – even if the book is mostly about his apprentice Hytham and his mission. I think even people who have no connection to the games can get a lot of enjoyment out of the book, but knowing the details and stories of the series can deepen that experience.
