What a beautiful, magical, story.
In the beginning everything seems dark and grey and ice cold. We feel the winter in London and the winter in the hearts of the lords, as well as in the houses of the poor population. We can understand their fears, because we can sense the hatred against them. But then there is this tyger, a mystical creature. And it looks like she is going to teach everyone one of us. Join in for a lesson or two. I promise you: it is worth it! A meaningful and important story, so light (pun intended) and positive. Full of emotions, the whole range of them. This book taught me hope and dreams. I'm smiling, smelling honeysuckle in the air. And when it comes to the art work by Dave McKean, the great master of graphics and illustration, this story is elevated even higher. Playing with darkness and light, in black and white. Making it easily one of my most favorite books of the year.
