I've read this for uni once and absolutely loved it. This is my second read and the appeal still holds. Assurances is a captivating montage that captures the uncertainty of being in a cold war. The waiting, the suspicions, the uncertainty are wonderfully presented and woven together in snapshots from different perspectives. J. O. Morgan is definitely worth a read. I'm always taken by his works and definitely recommend Assurances to anyone who thinks of getting into reading poetry!
