3,5 I don’t know why the fact that all this happened in the span of a week bothers me so much, but it does. Otherwise i’d rate this higher, it was hella amusing.
**Problematic content ** I normally love K. A. Tucker books and mostly give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ratings but with this one I could not. Even though it is well written and starts off really good and I absolutely love the setting I could not get over how the male main character treated the female main character. I actually read the book twice because at some point, after a few month or a year I convinced myself that the book or more precisely the male character couldn’t be as bad as I thought especially since I liked the start of the book so much. Turns out my brain was playing tricks on me just because I love K. A. Tuckers other books so much. I am not putting a spoiler alert here since only one star ⭐️ is a dead giveaway as to what I thought about some actions in this book but yeah, the behaviour was a deal breaker for me. So Abbi is a girl from a small town who encounters Henry who’s of course completely different to her cheating bastard of an ex-boyfriend…. And is also her boss, but I don’t really mind this but I absolutely hate that the he has a lawsuit going on that concerns sexual assault and even though we are lead to believe that there is no foundation to the other ladies claim … the treatment of Abbi and how he used her feels an awful lot like misuse of power and even though she says yes, the intimate scenes (in light of the lawsuit) are a bit repulsive and lead me to believe that despite it being probably written off in the next books(?) the main character seems to me as if he could be able to do such things and I don’t want this kind of main character in a book.
