Kinda boring and repetitive. Don’t really understand the world building and the relationship happened way too fast. The beauty of forced proximity is, that the characters learn more about each other and spend time they wouldn’t have otherwise. This was literally: “I’m a monster” and “I’m so nice”

Psyche x Eros After Psyche showed the feared Eros kindness once at a Party, Eross mother Aphrodite sends him to take her heart, all because of the tension between her and syches mother Demeter. Eros tries to see it though but couldn´t ring himself to do it. nstead, he marries her to make her family. Unfortunately, this doesnt´t stop Aphrodite to keep attempting her murder through assassins. Eros protects her. Through pure bodily chemistry, something way stronger starts manifesting in both of them until they can´t stand the thought of the other getting hurt. To stop Aphrdite, Psyche und Eros have to get allies and evidence of what is happening, so they start plotting a truly amazing and smart trap for Aphrodite to step into. Whats the trap? Youĺl have to read it to find out. I truly devoured this book. It is such a smooth ride through the events and left me yearning for more. Just like the first book of the series, this one too has amazing character developements going on. Itś like you can feel the changes of thoughts through just reading the pages. The spice was a good amount throuout the booka and the feeling were so genuine felt like I was the one feeing them.Another awesome book in oe of my favourite book series.

Ihre Beziehung ist ein Weg zur Erlösung und zur Selbstakzeptanz für beide. Das Buch normalisiert und feiert verschiedene Körpertypen, was in der oft oberflächlichen Welt von Olympus einen Kontrast darstellt. Die anfängliche Abneigung bei der Zwecksehe und das Misstrauen weichen intensiver Leidenschaft und Loyalität, während sie lernen, sich gegenseitig zu vertrauen und zu beschützen. Das Buch beleuchtet das düstere Thema des elterlichen Missbrauchs, insbesondere durch Aphrodites manipulative und missbräuchliche Beziehung zu Eros, der als ihre Waffe eingesetzt wird. Dies steht im Gegensatz zu Psyches enger und liebevoller Beziehung zu ihren Geschwistern und dem Konzept einer gewählten Familie (Found Family).

I enjoyed “Electric Idol” just as much as “Neon Gods” if not a little more because the plot in this one was slightly more interesting! The storyline was super interesting especially with the “fake dating”/ “marriage of convenience” and the relationship development between Psyche and Eros was, albeit slow, really nice in my opinion I really like Psyche but Eros has my heart - this man deserves the biggest hug and all the love! He might have done a lot of bad things (thanks to his mother) but in the end Eros is just a man who wants to be loved and be part of a family and with Psyche he found both of these things which was absolutely beautiful to see! ❤️‍🩹 The relationship between those two was very touching and the way they cared for each other since the beginning of their marriage was really sweet (especially Eros and his need to protect his wife 🤭) The spicy scenes were amazing as well like always if Katee Robert writes them! I am super excited for the third book and can’t wait to dive into the story of Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus 🫣

Barely a story, barely anything happening, and I spent most of the time waiting for SOMETHING to happen. The first book set the bar so high, and this just ... flopped. If you love the first book, don't get your hopes up here. It's mostly filler, and you're better off moving on to something that actually delivers.

My travel book A plus size Psyche? An Eros who‘s his mothers Aphrodite‘s killer? And they have to get married to save Psyche from getting killed. I love retellings of mythology anyway. But throw in some smut and then even a plus size and I‘m sold! I also loved that you got both perspectives. Really enjoyed the book!

Era un cazador de monstruos, de gente que pretendía hacer daño a la única familia que tengo en este mundo. Hasta que un día levanté la vista y me di cuenta de que yo era el mayor monstruo de todos. AMO TANTO A EROS Y PSIQUE, son de mis parejas mitologicas favoritas. El desarrollo de este libro me gusto mucho más que el primero, desde el inicio puedes sentir la quimica y tensión de los protagonistas, no dejan el problema principal de lado, y es muy spicy. Además me encanta que en este libro Eros es un villano, Y QUEDA como villano, si quiere mejorar, pero en el primero nos pintaron a Hades como el villano y era un pancito de Dios, pero aqui podemos ver a Eros siendo cruel, y no solo como una apariencia. Me encanta Psique, amo su fuerza, adoro a esta mujer. Hermes sigue siendo lo mejor de la saga. Merece su propio libro. Es criminal lo perfectamente que Psique encaja contra mí. ¿Cómo se supone que voy a seguir con mi vida después de saber que hay una persona que es la otra mitad de mi rompecabezas?

I liked Neon Gods when I read it but nothing more, and it's possible I loved this even more. I loved Psyche and Eros, her pragmatism and intelligence and his battle with his demons. Unfortunately, the plot wasn’t the greatest to be honest. It was a bit lackluster as nothing really happens until the very end. Also, the entire storyline and romance all occur under 2 weeks, which was kind of funny. The relationship and romance between Eros and Psyche is definitely the main highlight of this book. Even though it was insta-love, they still had great chemistry, angst, banter and spice. The smut is really passionate and hot. I did also like how there was low conflict between Eros and Psyche. All the drama and issues happened around their relationship. The ending and epilogue was a nice conclusion and I am interested in continuing this series. Overall, just an enjoyable and smutty read.

Since I discovered Katee Robert for myself, I’ve fallen in love with her books. Volume one of the Dark Olympus series (Neon Gods) blew my mind and that’s why I was extremely excited for the next part of the series. I really like the cover and it goes very well with the plot. As soon as I read the blurb, I knew I had to read the book. My expectations were very high and after reading this book I can say that all my expectantions have been fully met. I love the setting of this series, the plot was exciting from the first time i opend it and the characters were always on my mind. The tension kept building until the a big bang in the end. There were a few similarities to the first book, but volume two can stand completely on its own. The book also has a good dose of drama, but that never was too exaggerated. The erotic scenes are damn hot and well and authentically written. They blend in wonderfully with the plot and never dominate it. Katees writing is so beautiful, emotional and its easy to read. I just flew through the pages and couldn’t put the book down. It was an amazing read. This time it’s about Eros and Psyche. She is the sister of Persephone and she has a very different personality. Psyche knows how to play the game, but she doesn’t get lost in it and she remains true to herself. Eros and Psyche are both broken characters. The scars of both their pasts still linger today. Nevertheless, they have both grown and they go through a great development in the course of the story. Eros in particular is learning that he is worth so much more. He’s so much more than just his mother’s hit man. Psyche and her love for him helping a lot. In addition to the two main characters, Hades, Persephone and the new Zeus also reappear. I love the whole dynamic of the thirteen and their balance of power. „Electric Idol“ was an absolutely brilliant sequel and I can’t wait for the third part to come out. The setting and the characters just offer so much potential for more great stories. If you like Greek mythology, lots of well written smut and fascinating new stories, you should defiantly read this book.

Hat mir fast noch besser gefallen als Band 1. Die Charaktere waren sehr cool und es ist sehr High Society Mäßig mit Influencer und Promis. Die Perspektive war sehr cool. Die Welt wieder echt interessant und faszinierend. Love Story diesmal ein anderer Ansatz aber gut gemacht. Spannend. Das Ende bzw der Höhepunkt war nur nicht so "Woah" Mäßig wie erwartet.

4/5⭐️ „Neon Gods“ war ein absolutes Jahreshighlight von mir. Dementsprechend war ich unglaublich gespannt auf „Electric Idol“ vor allem, weil ich noch nie ein Eros x Psyche Retelling gelesen habe, die Geschichte aber zu einer meiner liebsten der griechischen Mythologie gehört. Die Welt der Dark Olympus Reihe ist einfach nur genial. Ich liebe es, dass die Charaktere keine klassischen Götter sind, sondern es um Machtverhältnisse der High Society einer fiktiven Stadt geht. Das macht das Lesen unglaublich interessant und gleichzeitig viel realistischer. Katee Roberts Schreibstil ist wie immer auf den Punkt und lebt von den Dialogen, die Schlag auf Schlag folgen. Ich mag ihre Bücher einfach gerne. Nun gut, zu den Charakteren: Psyche lernt man ja schon in „Neon Gods“ besser kennen und nach „Electric Idol“ mag ich sie noch mehr. Ich liebe ihr Selbstbewusstsein, ihre Schlagfertigkeit und ihren Sanftmut. Sie ist clever und weiß es das Spiel des Olympus auf ihre ganz eigene Weise zu spielen. Außerdem mochte ich sehr, dass es aus ihrer Sicht viel um Body Positivity ging, was im Romance Genre sonst viel zu kurz kommt. Eros ist so der typische getriebene romantische Held. Er sieht sich als Monster, was er leider etwas zu oft betont, und schreckt vor Gefühlen zurück. Die meiste Zeit wirkt er kalt und kalkulierend, es sei denn, er spricht mit Psyche. Die Autorin hat ihn mal als Katze beschrieben, die man einmal gestreichelt hat und nicht mehr los wird, weil sie jetzt immer hinter einem her rennt. Eine bessere Beschreibung gibt es für ihn nicht. Er trifft Psyche und kann von dem Moment an nicht mehr ohne sie. Seine Sicht besteht hauptsächlich daraus Psyche anzuschmachten und langsam seine Gefühle zu verstehen. Das mochte ich ziemlich gerne. Die Beziehung zwischen beiden konnte ich trotzdem schwer nachvollziehen. Irgendwie hat mir da das gewisse Etwas gefehlt und hatte mich einfach nicht so gepackt, wie im Band zuvor, auch wen ich die Entwicklung zwischen ihnen richtig schön fand und sie eine schöne Chemie hatten. Ebenso fand ich das Buch einfach nicht so spannend. Gegen Ende ist dann mehr in der Handlung geschehen und es ging wieder viel um die Machenschaften in Olympus, aber der Anfang dreht sich eben nur um die Beziehung und viel Erotik. Hätte mir das gerne etwas durchmischter gewünscht. Trotzdem freue ich mich sehr auf den Rest der Reihe. Es ist absolut packend und die Charaktere waren alle bisher Highlights für mich. Wenn ihr mal etwas andere griechische Mythologie Retellings lesen wollt, in denen ihr viel Smut und Intrigen bekommt, seid ihr hier genau richtig. Ich bin ein Fan!
