JLB somehow packed a full mystery and emotional gut-punches into ~100 pages, and I didn’t even see the killer coming. embarrassing for me, iconic for her. Seeing the gang in their twenties was the closure I didn’t know I needed, and Mackenzie won my heart immediately. My only complaint? Don’t even get me started on Michael and Lia still not being together in their twenties.

Although the style is very different, I really loved to have one last adventure with the Naturals. I also loved the insights into their childhoods to better understand why each of them became a Natural. For me the story was a bit less intense and thrilling than the original books but I would not want to miss this novella! I will miss the six friends and against all odds wish for a next book in the series.

This time I'm done for real. I swear I would read twenty more books if there were more. I already miss every single character and the thrill I felt reading every single book of the Naturals series. Going into this series I wouldn't have thought that it would grow on me so much, definitely one of my favourite series I've read this year

Twelve ist eine spannende, kurzweilige Novelle, die Fans der Naturals-Reihe sicher genießen werden! Fünf Jahre nach dem Serienende lösen die Naturals gemeinsam einen kleinen Fall. Obwohl die Novelle nicht zwingend notwendig ist, fühlt es sich wie ein wertvoller Bonus an! Ich mochte die kleinen Rückblicke in die Vergangenheit der einzelnen Charaktere. Die Charakterentwicklung war etwas flach. Die Spannung ist da und der Plottwist clever eingefädelt. Allgemein ist die Novelle überraschend gut und ein sehr gelungener Abschluss der Reihe. Es hat einfach Spaß gemacht! 😍

I was delighted to find out that this novella is contained in my copy of Bad Blood. Short and sweet read, I loved this little glimpse into their future. They're older but the banter is still incredible and they're such a family. The way they treated Mackenzie was absolutely darling. Also, the small glimpses at Sloane and Celine? I love the girls. Bonus points for creepy little sister Laurel. This left me at peace, knowing they'll be fine somehow, I needed this.

Die Novelle, kein Muss aber dennoch zu empfehlen. Wir treffen die Charaktere alle noch mal wieder, ein paar Jahre später als in der main-Reihe. Ein letzter Fall wird gelöst und dieser stellt wieder denn Bezug zum Reihenanfang. Zusätzlich bekommt man zu allen Charakteren jeweils noch ein paar Hintergrundinformationen aus ihren jeweiligen Vergangenheiten, das fand ich war eine sehr coole Idee. Man bekommt gut mit, mit was alle Charaktere beschäftigt sind und wie ihr weiterer „Lebensweg“ aussieht und aussehen wird. Das wars dann wohl 🥲

"♧ Das Buch war in meinem Buch und dementsprechend auch kurz. Eine kleine, "spannende" Geschichte mit einem neuen Fall. Mir haben die Rückblicke von den Charakteren gefallen. Aber den Fall an sich hätte ich nicht gebraucht, weil der schon sehr uninteressant war. Ich hätte lieber so eine cute fluff Geschichte von den Charakteren gefeiert und nicht so ein ganz schnell gelöster Fall. Sonst lässt sich hier aber auch nicht viel sagen, muss man nicht unbedingt gelesen haben, war aber doch ganz schön und ich habe es ja gratis dazu bekommen.
