The second Shepherd book was, in my opinion, not as good as the first novel. First of all, there was not enough of Francis Ackerman Jr. who turns out to be one of my favorite book villain for all the obvious reasons. Secondly, I can't stand Marcus. I just ... can't. Personally, I think he is a really boring hero. Plus he's always bitching and mean to his colleagues and friends. If he was anywhere near me, I'd probably punch him right in the face because of his attitude. Thirdly, the story itself was kind of boring compared to the first novel. I kind of liked the insight the reader gets to Scofield's mind, however, the whole Prophet story wasn't my cup of tea. Even the 'cliffhanger' towards the end did not leave me longing to read the third novel. All in all, it was an okayish read, however, I really do hope that the thirs book will be more enjoyable.
